Consortium Centro America Abogados – El Salvador Office announces the entry of Mr. Juan Ernesto Menjívar, LLM as Senior Associate of the firm in El Salvador. Juan Ernesto obtained his Bachelor of Legal Sciences at University Dr. Jose Matias Delgado in El Salvador and has a Master in Tax Law from Boston University of Law, Boston Massachusetts, USA.
Before becoming a Master of Law, Juan Ernesto Menjívar served as Legal Technician on the Department of Legal Studies of the General Direction of Internal Taxes of the Ministry of Finance, where he participated in the guidance and counseling of queries submitted by individuals, companies, national and foreign Government Agencies; in consequence requiring the study of national and international laws, international conventions and agreements signed by the Government of the Republic of El Salvador and other international agencies such as  The Pan-American Health Organization, the Millennium Challenge Corporation, also with the Governments of Israel, the United Arab Emirates. He also participated in the review of tax related bills, such as the Ruling of the Tax Incentives for Promotion of Renewable Energies in Electricity Generation. He also was in charge to providing responses to the requests from the Court of Appeal of Internal Taxes and the Supreme Court regarding tax audits and penalties processes. He also gained experience out of the country, having performed an internship as a lawyer in the Neighborhood of Affordable Housing organization in Boston Massachusetts, USA.
His incorporation will strength the Firm’s tax practice in El Salvador, which is in charge of Partner Diego Martín-Menjívar, through which the Firm provides specialist tax advice to our clients and to local and foreign companies that require specialized consulting of tax and customs matters.
