Recently, Miriam Beatriz Barahona has become a member of Consortium´s IP team in the El Salvador office as head of the patents and sanitary registrations department. She arrives after having worked for the past eight years with the National Center of Registries of El Salvador (CNR) as Head of Patents and Industrial Designs for the Intellectual Property Office in El Salvador. Ms. Barahona has a degree in Chemistry and Pharmacology from the University of El Salvador and has studies in Business Administration. She has been extremely active professionally in counseling on Sanitary Registrations and Opening of Sanitary Establishments; she has performed registrations of cosmetics and food, she has counseled on patent annulments and has been patent examinator before the Patent and Trademark Office of Spain during 2005, in Madrid. Among some of her studies of specialization in Patent matters, there can be mentioned different courses by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO); the European Patent Office (EPO) and the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). Additionally, she has been a member of the Salvadoran Counsel for Monitoring the Chemistry and Pharmacology Professionals before the Public Health Superior Board. With the incorporation of Ms. Barahona to Consortium, we join the few law firms in Central America to incorporate a professional expert in Patents in its IP Department with the purpose to offering a broad spectrum of services at national and international level. |
