Consortium Centro America Abogados through its office in El Salvador advised Grupo Bancolombia in the acquisition of an additional 9.59% of shares from Banagrícola, S.A. owned by Bienes y Servicios, S.A. (BYSSA) for approximately US$88 Million. The lawyers involved in the assessment were partner Ricardo Cevallos and associate Oscar Samour. Since May 2007, the Colombian financial group owned 89.97% of the capital of the financial conglomerate Banagrícola de El Salvador and with this purchase their participation is up to 98.9% of the holding Salvadoran company. The acquisition process took place through a direct purchase through the Panama Stock Exchange and has been one of the largest transactions in the financial sector in Latin America these days.
