In order to announce two commercial law bills that will be filed before the Legislative Branch in the coming days, the Salvadoran Foundation for Economic and Social Development (FUSADES) in collaboration with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) organized the forum entitled "Analysis of new Commercial Laws: Business Restructuring and Bankruptcy Law and Special Pledge Law" Jose Roberto Tercero, a member of Consortium Centro America Abogados in El Salvador’s Office was the local speaker.
The event held on May 13th, concluded with the presentation of the Bill of Business Restructuring and Bankruptcy exposed by José Roberto Tercero, consultant of Booz Allen Hamilton, USAID and member of Consortium Centro America Abogados. The law intends the protection of the credit and the recovery and conservation of companies as units of economic exploitation and generating sources of employment in response to situations of current or imminent insolvency.
In a period of four hours, the event was attended by representatives of the judicial, business and economic sectors as well as legal professionals. Amongst the invited panelists present were: Dale Furnish, consultant of Booz Allen Hamilton, USAID; Carlo Altieri, Chief Judge of the Bankruptcy Court of U.S. District of Puerto Rico, Eli Valley, Legal Counsel to the Ministry of Economy of El Salvador and Jose Roberto Tercero of Consortium Centro America Abogados.
