After 84 years of operations as a state-owned monopoly, Costa Rica’s insurance market has admitted companies to establish and effectively compete to supply insurance services in its territory. Due to this historic change, Consortium-Lacle & Gutierrez in Costa Rica has created its Insurance Law Department in order to offer integral legal counseling to insurance companies in its relations with the market supervisor, reinsurers, insured parties and insurance intermediaries, as well as in connection with contractual matters of insurance and reinsurance, litigation and arbitration, among others. German Rodriguez is the Head of the Insurance Law Department.
