Consortium Centro America Abogados Advices Mesoamérica Energy
News Details:
Consortium Centro America Abogados through its office in Honduras,
Consortium-J.R. Paz & Asociados, advises Mesoamérica Energy, through its
subsidiary Energía Eólica of Honduras, in the Power Purchase
Agreement with the Honduran National Electricity Company (ENEE), for the
generation of 100MW of eolic or wind- generated energy, in what will be the largest
eolic park in Latin America.
Investment is projected to be of US$ 200 million
plus, its closing date October 1, 2008.
The Eoloelectric Project Honduras
2000 had fallen into legal problems for almost ten years, until three years and
a half ago, Mesoamerica Energy, formed by the most important group of Central
American investors, managed to clear them, from the exploration permit, to the
environmental licenses, land acquisition, litigation in relation to the
project, up to the historic Power Purchase Agreement, for the first project to
generate clean renewable energy by wind in Honduras
and the largest in Latin America. Consortium-J.R. Paz & Asociados in Honduras
has advised the project in all stages during the three-and-a-half year span.
The eolic plant is expected to initiate operations in 2010.
The group
of Partners and Associates has been led by Partner José Rafael Rivera and
Associate José Miguel Alvarez, involving fifteen attorneys in three years and a
half of advice in their different areas of specialization, also including
Partners Armando Manzanares and Gustavo León-Gómez.
