Alejandro Cofiño Rodríguez, an associate at Consortium- Rodríguez, Archila, Castellanos, Solares & Aguilar, S.C, has become a member of the Committee on Project Finance (the “Committee”) of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York as of February 2006. His tenure will be for two years. Attorneys practicing in project finance and other related areas compose the Committee. Among its purposes, the Committee strives to share experience among attorneys, discuss current issues and interesting matters in such practice areas, and continue educating attorneys and the general public through meetings and workshops. About 30 international law firms, plus multilateral institutions, US government agencies, and corporations, which have significant practice and involvement in project finance, are represented in the Committee. However, Consortium- Rodríguez, Archila, Castellanos, Solares & Aguilar, S.C is the first Latin American based law firm represented in the Committee. Mr. Cofiño previously participated in the “Collateral Security Agreements in Project Finance Conference” organized by the Committee in January 31, 2005, which featured lawyers from selected foreign jurisdictions who identified typical challenges in creating and perfecting collateral security package for project finance transactions in those jurisdictions. |
